Walking is the default method of transport if the party has lost their Vehicle.
Walking is - unsurprisingly - the slowest method of travel meaning the Driving days until Canada value will not lower.
Walking will automatically begin if any of the following occurs:
- Party runs out of Gas while driving.
- Vehicle breaks down and party fails to repair it.
- Scavenging party exits a non-siege level via walking to the edge of the map and confirming to leave their Vehicle behind.
- Car is destroyed via event
Walking prevents most Events from occurring and instead features its own unique set. Most of these events have negative consequences like health loss, Morale loss, or a loss of multiple supplies. Some of these events can be overcome through character Stats and abilities to minimise losses. Many of these events also do not feature a choice.
Walking will usually only have to be dealt with for a short amount of time due to the fact that events which give vehicles are common in the unique walking event list. If the group does not run into an event that simply gives a vehicle, eventually they will run into a scavenging mission which will allow them to obtain one.
