About[]

The Grim Reaper is a Rare Character that can be found in the Cemetery map. He is only recruitable in O*P*P mode.

Upon opening a crypt, there is a chance that the party will find the Grim Reaper inside. His overall attitude to the zombie apocalypse is indifferent.

A member of the party is able to shake hands with the Grim Reaper if they choose. Selecting this will cause the party member to be blasted with "Death Energy". This will reduce their maximum health to one, but grant the party member a level and an increased cap on their Shooting, Fitness, and Strength stats.

Additionally, after shaking hands with Death, he will drop a Scythe that the party can use as a Weapon.

In O*P*P mode, though no stats are revealed upon recruitment, he always starts with 10 Strength and 10 Fitness, which is buffed to 110, making him impossible to be fatigued. There are three bugs with Death in O*P*P mode; he can not pick up items or weapons off the ground, he can not change his weapon despite having 2 open slots, and until Death takes at least 1 hit of damage, damaged party members can not be healed.

Epilogue[]

Grim Reaper's ending dialogue is just the standard non-rare character dialogue; this is probably due to not having any unique epilogue dialogue implemented for this character.

Trivia[]

  • It is believed that the Grim Reaper is based on the Greek god Kronos, also known as Father Time. Often depicted as a skeletal figure cloaked in black, flowing robes who hefts a scythe.
  • In the Experimental Section of the O*P*P MODE recruitment location, the Grim Reaper can be recruited there.
  • Grim Reaper is referred to in DR2C as a female, presumably due to an error.
